We now enjoy our third of four Snacks from that great chapter on love as written by Saint Paul in his first letter to the Corinthians chapter 13. In verses 8-10 we read:  Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; What the apostle seems to be saying here is that love is the only eternal basis for our relationships within and beyond the Body of Christ within the arena in which we now live.

The time will come when the spiritual gift of speaking in other tongues will cease—simply because they will no longer be necessary. We will be able to speak freely in the presence of Father God without fear of either rejection or attack:  where there are tongues, they will be stilled; This clearly indicates that the reality of our presence in heaven will be far greater than we could even imagine at the present time of our walk.

Moreover, one of our searches in these days on earth for effective and proper education about the things of God for our lives will be replaced by a hands-on reality:  where there is knowledge, it will pass away. It is almost beyond our grasp to understand what it means to have all barriers to knowing our God be removed from our presence in heaven. We will see, we will touch, we will understand, we will know God.

The very best we have in this life is the opportunity to come into the presence of our God through Jesus Christ under the anointing of the Holy Spirit. But the very best of these opportunities will pale when we are free to enter the golden gates of heaven:  For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. Do not fail to note that perfection will come to us in God.
